My name is Paula Parker and I am the founder of Elite Aspirations – Coaching for Young people and their families based in Greater Manchester.
My career spans over almost 30 years, working with young people and their families in the education sector. I have a current DBS certificate and have held one for 28 years. I am fully insured and am compliant with the Data Protection Act 2018, which means all clients data is recorded and stored in line with the law. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office – ICO ref: A8719755
I am also the proud mother of three beautiful daughters in their twenties and have predominantly been a full time working, single parent.
Using my wealth of experience and knowledge and having a passion for helping others to improve their lives, I have set up this company to pursue a more fulfilling future for myself and my clients.
Being a young person these days is no easy task and one I wouldn’t want to have to experience in this world of social media and unprecedented pressures that can affect ones emotional/mental health. Young people sometimes need additional help, support and guidance outside the family unit.
Young people develop when they are happy and secure. Sometimes this means sifting out some of their issues and breaking down some barriers that are preventing their personal development and progress.
There can also be additional pressures put upon the rest of the family and sometimes seeking help outside the family can be beneficial to all members of it. This coaching can help any member of your family or a combination of its members in moving forward more positively.
I can help with the basics of rules and routines, consequences and sanctions that affect all families at times. Mine was no exception!
I can also support the more detailed/specific issues that young people and their families encounter in today’s current climate.
I prefer to offer my sessions in the comfort of the clients own surroundings or somewhere they feel safe and at ease to talk. This will be agreed before any meetings take place.
Having been in education for nearly 30 years, I have had extensive experience of a whole range of issues that affect young people and their families. In addition to this I have been the Designated Safeguarding Lead dealing with the more complex issues that some families face.
I have taught and been the founder/leader of an extremely successful Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) department in a local secondary school.
I have a wealth of continued professional development (CPD) ranging from various PSHE courses, being a trainer for the Local Authority multi-agency safeguarding team, being a Mental Health First Aider and having worked closely with looked after children, young carers and those with Special Education Needs and Disabilities in the educational setting.
I am a qualified Grief Recovery Specialist and I work with people of all ages who have experienced some kind of loss. I work on a 1:1 or small groups basis and cover loss of a loved one, separation, divorce, loss of a pet and so on.
